You Don’t Want More Money, You Want More Time To Live Your Life on Your Own Terms
The sooner you realize this, the better for you.
Money is a necessity.
Without money, you cannot live. You can only survive. Money doesn't make you happy, but if you lack it continuously, you will quickly understand that it can make you unhappy.
If you doubt it, you only have to look at the ultra-difficult daily life of millions of American workers who cannot live with dignity from their work. This is due to a minimum hourly wage that is far too low.
I'll stop here with American society, but the situation is even worse if you go beyond the West to emerging countries. For the people in these countries, the situation is inextricable. These people have no hope for a better future world.
The only goal is to try to survive from day to day.
Whether you are aware of this reality or not, you may be one of the millions of people who make earning more and more money a life goal in itself. These people enter a vicious circle from which they almost never get out.
In effect, you want to earn $10,000 a month. Then it's $100,000. And then you'll be thinking about a million dollars a year. And so on. With all your efforts, you will probably realize sooner or later that all this money will not bring you the happiness or even the contentment you should aspire to.
In reality, you don't want more money. You want more time to live your life on your own terms. You want more freedom.
So money is just a means to a greater end: allowing you to live your life the way you want to.
This has an essential impact on your life. You must seek to match the money you want to earn with your life's goals. If you don't do this, money will remain a goal in itself and you will forever be in an endless quest for more that will never bring you contentment.
The first essential step is therefore to define what you want for your future life.
Once you have defined your purposes, you will be able to define the trajectory to follow in which money will simply be a means. Nothing more. This will allow you to stop this endless quest when you have reached your goals. Better yet, it will allow you to enjoy your life to the fullest.
Sooner or later you will reach the contentment that will give you the possibility to lead a happy and fulfilled life. This is worth more than all the gold and money in the world.
