Why Changing Your Routine Frequently Will Help You Thrive to Success
Don't fall into the trap of a set-in-stone routine.
Success in life is never random. When you look closely at the backgrounds of successful people, you realize that they actually have a lot more in common than you might have imagined at first.
Take for example the two richest men in the world: Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.
At first glance, apart from their immense fortunes, you would have the feeling that they are totally different. Indeed, one of them is a totally unpredictable person who can at any time trigger controversy with his statements or tweets.
The other is a more calm entrepreneur who doesn't make waves and always acts in a thoughtful way.
Successful people have all built routines that allow them to give their best every day
However, these two genius entrepreneurs who are so different from each other share a strong taste for reading. They consider that reading is the key to constantly deepening their knowledge. In a world in constant evolution, it is obviously a necessity to always evolve or risk being left behind.
In addition to this love of reading, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos recognize the importance of building daily routines made of good habits to be able to fully concentrate on the tasks that bring the maximum added value in the conquest of your goals.
The reason these two entrepreneurs do this is that it's totally true that you need to make sure that you manage your time as well as possible so that you have as much of it as possible for high value-added tasks.
People who get up in the morning and don't know what they're going to do all day are going to waste a lot of time, and energy. This is even more dramatic because you may not get the full benefit of your morning energy boost.
So you need to set up a morning routine that will bring you to the moment when you attack your tasks for the day in a virtually automated way. To save even more time, these tasks will have been defined the day before, because a productive day always starts the day before for me.
Define your tasks in descending order of difficulty. This way, you will attack the hardest task at the time when your energy level is at its peak.
A routine, even a winning one, should never be set in stone. Make it evolve frequently
Once you understand this, you will gain a lot in terms of productivity. It will be a winning formula for a while. And then one day you will find that you will start to slow down and that this routine that was once so useful in making you perform will have become a drag on you.
This is the great trap of routines made of good habits. There always comes a time when they become almost counterproductive if you don't change them.
I'm not saying you have to change everything, but rather, frequently test new habits to include in place of old ones. You must make this routine your best ally and not a comfort zone from which you will not be able to leave.
There is nothing worse than a routine that you feel compelled to follow.
You must therefore change your routine frequently so that you never fall into monotony. This will allow you to always have that feeling of novelty that helps keep your motivation level as high as possible. With maximum motivation, your chances of achieving great things will obviously be greater.
So this is vital in the conquest of your goals. Never make the mistake of falling into monotony. Dare to change. Embrace it as often as possible and you will get the greatest benefit for your goals.
