Want to Keep a Winning Mindset in a World More Uncertain Than Ever? Apply This Hack.
You must regain control of the flow of information entering your brain.
I don't know if you feel the same way I do, but with what we have experienced over the past two years, one reality is clear: we live in a more uncertain world than ever before.
The world has always been uncertain, but before the COVID-19 pandemic took over the world, many of us, at least in Western societies, felt that we could have certainty. The COVID-19 pandemic has shattered all that.
Now everyone understands that these certainties do not exist and that it is necessary to be prepared for anything.
Just as we had come out of two years of the pandemic, inflation took over the world, and a war in Europe was declared. Everyone thought that the time of wars in Europe was over, but Vladimir Putin had decided otherwise a long time ago.
It is even safe to say that he started his war in Ukraine in February 2014 by illegally annexing Crimea. But at the time, the West reacted so softly that it could go almost unnoticed. Over the next few years, when everyone in the West thought they were safe, Putin continued to move forward with his plan to take over all of Ukraine.
The unleashing of his plan took place on February 24, 2022, under pretenses.
All this news makes the world we live in more and more anxiety-provoking. The price of gas is soaring due to Putin's use of it as a weapon of war in Europe. Russian propaganda keeps saying that Europeans must prepare for a very harsh winter. All these perspectives are not the kind to appease us when we have already experienced two very delicate years.
If any players are delighted by this rise in global peril, it is the 24-hour news channels. These channels have never been as successful as they are now. I don't know about you, but in my country, when I want to watch TV in the evening, there are more than half a dozen channels that do sets with experts debating the latest developments in the war in Ukraine.
When they are not talking about the war in Ukraine, these channels are talking about climate change whose effects are increasingly felt all around the world. Floods in Pakistan, record drought in China or Europe, giant fires in America, Australia, or Europe ...
In short, we have no respite.
If you choose to watch too much TV or read too much news in online or print newspapers, you will, without even realizing it, damage your winning mindset. The negativity that is put forth in the news pushed by the media will make you think that everything is black in this world and that we have no hope.
Oh yes, and I haven't even told you about the risk of nuclear war or nuclear accident in Ukraine...
As you can see, you have to do something if you want to keep a winning mindset. So how can you not let the bad news of the world come and affect your mindset day after day?
I'm going to suggest a little hack that looks simple but is rather complicated to apply effectively, as we are used to living in an instantaneous world where we always want to know everything about what's going on in the world.
However, this hack is vital if you want to keep a winning mindset, i.e. maximize your chances of achieving your goals, while leading a happier life day after day.
What I suggest is that you go on a news diet!
Stop watching the news channels on TV. Stop reading the news from the general media that always try to highlight the most dramatic events, because those are the ones that sell the most. Turn off your push notifications on your smartphone, and apply this diet to social networks.
If important information were to be brought to your attention, you can be sure that some of your acquaintances would take care of it for you. In the meantime, you don't need to constantly know what's going on in the world. The world is going through hard times of course, but following it in real-time isn't going to change anything. Well, it's going to hurt you.
Remember that too much negativity will maximize your chances of giving in to your emotions. With a clouded mind, you won't be able to make good decisions with your logical reasoning. You will be slowed down and less happy.
This hack will allow you to preserve a winning mindset
In short, you'll see that after a difficult initial period, because we are all addicted to this continuous information, you'll be better off. Try this hack for at least 30 days, and then tell me if it didn't bring you only benefits.
I applied this hack throughout August while on vacation, and I can tell you that I saw a noticeable difference. Of course, I didn't cut myself off from all the information in the world, but I chose when I wanted to be informed, and that made all the difference.
In this case, being informed once or twice a week was enough for me, and it didn't change the world. The world continued to turn, but my vision of the world was changed. I was able to fully enjoy my days where I focused on my rest and my goals. My winning mindset has never been better and I plan to continue this experience until the end of the year.
Apply this hack and you will tell me if the effects are as beneficial for you as they were for me.
