The Unfair Advantage You Have Over the Smartest People to Get Rich.
There is no need to try to create unique things to become rich. There is a better way.
You have big ambitions. Congratulations, because it is essential to achieve great things. Without high ambitions, there is no high motivation. And without great motivation, you will never achieve great goals like becoming rich.
Because let's be honest, it's a goal that more and more people have.
Without even knowing what exactly to do with their lives, you probably hear people like me say that they want to become rich.
What is your goal, Adam? To become rich!
Oh, but in what field? In any field, I want to become rich.
Many people seem to be missing the point by not understanding that wealth is a positive consequence (ultra-positive I grant you) and not a primary goal in itself. There are also many ways to be rich, but that's another topic. Very broad, it is true.
Smart people want to get rich by creating unique and amazing things
When you hear so many people who seem to be more intelligent than you, you end up having complexes and telling yourself that you won't succeed. Be careful, I said to appear here, because some people will give you the impression that they are smarter than you without actually being so. And after all, just as there are different types of wealth, there are different types of intelligence.
Nevertheless, you find it hard to step back and see this.
You simply see that the path to success is more complicated than you imagined. Why?
Because you think you need at least these four elements:
A great idea
A lot of work
Taking risks
Being lucky
Work and risk-taking are not a problem for you, as you are determined to succeed. However, having a great idea and luck seems impossible. You feel that it is always others who benefit from these two factors, and not you.
You work hard for nothing... Well, that's your feeling, because you never work for nothing in life. But here again, you lack perspective.
Your ego that is less big than that of smart people gives you an unfair advantage
Where you are going to have an unfair advantage over very intelligent people is that you are going to realize something essential to succeed in life. And that thing, I'm going to remind you of here. For some, it will be just a reminder. For others, a revelation.
Your unfair advantage is that you understand that to succeed, you don't have to invent something new and awesome.
Another way here. Another way. This formidable path is so obvious that smart people don't see it. They spend their time looking for complexity because their intelligence needs to be fed by that complexity.
This is not your case. Nor mine. Let me reassure you.
This way consists in taking inspiration from what already exists and has already been proven!
Is it? Yes, I assure you!
But if this way is so simple and effective, why do so few people follow it? Simply because it requires you to put your ego aside. Intelligent people don't usually have this ability. They want to succeed by innovating. Their pride will ultimately cost them dearly because, in the end, many smart people will not achieve the great success they dream of.
The example of Bitcoin speaks for itself
As you know, I have a strong interest in Bitcoin as well.
And in the Bitcoin world, this truth is expressed every day. I see a lot of people who want to get rich and think they are smarter than others. So they go looking for complex strategies to succeed. They will then go to obscure altcoin projects that promise them great things.
Their thirst to succeed by deciding to take a different path than others will lead them to lose a lot of money in the end. The latest example is the LUNA cryptocurrency and the UST stablecoin which have just exploded in mid-air:
This is all the more damaging because average people like me keep telling them the same thing: there are no hacks in the Bitcoin world. Everyone holds the same cards. The secret is to use the simplest method: Learn, Buy, HODL, Repeat.
A DCA strategy coupled with patience has always made a big difference so far in the Bitcoin world. It's not sexy. It's not sexy to have to be patient and understand that taking the long view makes all the difference. It's especially difficult because it means putting your ego aside and accepting that the simplest thing is also the most effective with Bitcoin.
Anyone can do it if they are patient. But too few people are willing to put their pride aside. And especially not the smart ones.
Warren Buffett's too!
Another telling example in the investment world is Warren Buffett. What? An article that talks about Bitcoin, then about Warren Buffett?! Isn't that a bit of a contradiction since Warren Buffett hates Bitcoin, which he constantly refers to as "Rat poison squared"?
Not at all and you will understand why. I've told you in the past that Warren Buffett has the mindset of a Bitcoiner, but he seems to ignore it himself.
All along, Warren Buffett understood that he didn't have that ability to innovate. To become rich, he would have to put his pride aside by building on the work of other innovators and investing wisely. If Warren Buffett is not an innovator, he is on the other hand a patient person who has a nose for choosing companies that will succeed in growth over time.
This has allowed him to build a huge fortune over time. Today he has a theoretical fortune of over 100 billion dollars.
His success is a testament to patience. Jeff Bezos once asked him why no one was doing what he was doing when he was publicly saying how to do it. His strategy is simple and he doesn't hide from it. Yet, too few people follow him. Warren Buffett had this to say to Jeff Bezos:
“People don't do what I do because nobody wants to get rich slowly.”
Final Thoughts
So your unfair advantage is copying what works and replicating. Since you'll be able to put your pride aside, you'll be willing to do what smart people are unable to do. Of course, you'll need to add patience to this and not be like those who want everything right away.
Don't try to do better all the time. Simply take advantage of what has proven itself. There is no shame in succeeding in this way and patiently building up your wealth in this way. It will only come back to taking advantage of your unfair advantage. That's what I've always tried to do, and that's what I'd advise you to do if, like me, you're not one of the smartest people in the world. There is no shame in admitting it.
