Many people dream of accomplishing great things in their lives. However, very few take the step, and just dream. Sometimes the success of others turns into envy, or even regret.
When they get to a certain age, I see people around me saying with regrets: “And if I had done that 10 years ago, my life would be different”.
This type of reflection inspires me to think about two essential things.
First of all, whatever your age, you have to keep in mind that it’s never too late to take risks and try to make your dreams come true.
Secondly, living with regrets is a dramatic thing that can be morally damaging. Some people even go so far as to fall into depression as they dwell on all the things they could have accomplished if they had taken action.
The big question I invite you to ask yourself is:
What’s stopping you from taking action?
When asked this question, many people tell me that they are waiting for the perfect moment. They are ready to act, but they are waiting for a hypothetical perfect time to jump into the battle.
I despair of that answer, because these people are totally wrong in thinking that there would be a perfect time to take action.
There is no such moment!
In life, you will always find a good excuse not to take action, then renouncing to achieve your wildest ambitions.
In the beginning, you will tell yourself that you are not ready because you don’t have enough experience. Then you will tell yourself that it’s too late because you have started a family and had children. Finally, you will tell yourself that you are too old to take risks.
Without realizing it, by waiting and being passive, you will have missed out on an incredible number of opportunities through lack of action.
You must therefore stop procrastinating and integrate this fundamental truth:
The best time to take action is always now.
By taking action, you will experience failures, make mistakes, and encounter a host of unforeseen obstacles.
This is a great thing, because it will allow you to learn what doesn’t work, and then adapting to achieve your great successes.
Taking action is the first step on your road to future success.
If you don’t act, you’ll stay on the platform while the train leaves the station, and you won’t have a chance to succeed.
Stop making excuses for yourself and take action now, then you can adapt as you go along to create the ideal conditions for great things to happen.
