Stop Trying To Be the One With All the Answers, Be the One With All the Questions.
This major paradigm shift will make you a unique expert.
We live in a world that values expertise above all else. In any field, experts are always in demand and what they say is highly valued.
How many companies pay experts a lot of money to get all the answers to internal questions?
Rather than trying to listen to employees, it seems more important for managers to get all the answers from experts. Experts who feel obliged to pretend that they have all the answers to questions that may arise. There is a huge pressure on individuals to give the illusion that they have all the answers all the time.
In the political world, it is the same thing. How many politicians are unable to admit the truth, that they do not have all the answers to all the questions that people may have. Very few, unfortunately. To admit that you do not have all the answers seems to be a mortal sin for an expert.
A major paradigm shift is needed to become the one who has all the questions
This is unfortunate because claiming to have all the answers is not decisive in life.
A major paradigm shift is needed here. This 360-degree change will allow you to change your impact on the world you live in. Rather than trying to have all the answers, you need to develop the ability to have all the questions.
Being able to bring out the maximum number of questions in a given problem will give you a significant advantage.
While you cannot have all the answers, you can train your mind to think of all the angles from which to view a problem. This ability to put yourself in the shoes of all stakeholders in a problem will allow you to raise as many questions as possible.
People with enough humility and confidence to do this are extremely rare. This is what makes them even more essential in my opinion.
Finding the right questions at the right time is what you should strive for.
You will become a unique expert who asks the right questions and lets the answers emerge from the base
Once you have raised the questions, you need to take a participatory approach to bring out the best solutions to answer those questions. If you can have all the questions that an issue may arise, you are not able to have all the answers.
By involving other people, you will get relevant answers to these questions from different people. Each of these people will have specific expertise in answering one of your questions.
The strength of the collective will make the difference here. Rather than being a top-down expert, you will be a unique bottom-up expert.
The solutions that emerge from these answers will have the advantage of generating greater support because they emerge from the bottom up. This is the point of making this major paradigm shift. As an expert, you will be far more relevant, and your results will be better.
The initial starting point for adopting this approach is to have the necessary humility and confidence to admit that you don't have all the answers.
