The wording of this mission order will probably make fans of the Mission Impossible series smile. Here, there will be no Jim Phelps, but rather Elon Musk, who has no shortage of ambition with the new mission he has set for himself.
It has to be said that Elon Musk has always been a man of challenges, and this new challenge he has set himself for America will add to his long list of current challenges: building the first fully autonomous electric car, boosting human cognitive abilities with the power of computers, or colonizing Mars to save the human species, which is threatened with extinction on Earth.
While all these challenges are colossal, Elon Musk's new mission may well be even more complex than anything he has ever undertaken in his life.
Elon Musk plans to cut at least $2,000 billion from the annual US federal budget. As a reminder, the U.S. federal budget will be around $6,200 billion in 2023. Elon Musk simply wants to cut spending by 30%.
