On the surface, it looks like an ordinary town. You'd never know it from the photos. But inside, it's a veritable prison. Thousands of young people are locked up, beaten, and tortured to perpetrate scams on the cryptocurrency world all day long. You may have already heard of this place without digging into the subject.
It's called KK Park, and I'm going to tell you the chilling story of this cryptocurrency scam factory.
The trap almost invariably starts on Facebook or LinkedIn.
Young people aged 20 to 25 living in Hanoi, Phnom Penh, or Beijing are looking for a job. Nothing unusual so far. Then they spot a potentially interesting ad:
“Position available in digital marketing in Bangkok. Good salary, accommodation provided”.
These young people apply. They were soon called. Of course, they don't balk when asked to come for a face-to-face interview. Once they arrive at their destination, they get into a car to take them to the interview location. And then ... these young people can never go home again!
Located in Myawaddy, on the border between Burma and Thailand, officially presented as a “business park” or “technology hub”, the city is populated by palm trees, bright logos, new buildings ... and armed guards.
