Don’t Give Up on Your Great Future Success by Trying To Take Shortcuts
You would be missing out on the best in success.
The alarm clock rings. It's 6 a.m. It's Monday and a new week begins for you. You get up and follow your usual routine: ten minutes of meditation, a cold shower, and a black coffee.
Then you leave for your workplace. Whether you are an entrepreneur or an employee with a 9-to-5 job doesn't make much difference.
You are motivated to progress in your field and do better. So you're going to redouble your efforts all day long. You are the king or queen of productivity because you have built a perfect routine over time. If this routine is perfect, it is because you have built it to meet your needs precisely.
At the end of the day, you go home and again follow a routine.
You do whatever it takes to succeed, but success still doesn't come
You do some physical exercise and then you eat a balanced dinner. You take care of your body because you know that to last, you have to do this. After dinner, you list your tasks for the next day in descending order of difficulty to optimize the use of your productivity peak the next morning.
Then you read a few pages of a book and go to sleep. Your sleep is a priority to achieve your goals.
You continue like this all week, then you get to the weekends. You may enjoy a few moments of relaxation with your loved ones, but you know that the following Monday the same routine will be repeated.
Although you are motivated, you may end up getting tired over time of seeing that you are doing everything right, but that your big success still isn't coming. For some, this feeling of demotivation will come after 1 year. For others, it will be after 5 years or more.
Nevertheless, you are likely to feel it sooner or later.
You may be tempted to give up or take a shortcut
Faced with this feeling, some will decide to give up. This is a mistake, but we can understand the difficulty of not giving up when you don't reach your goals after so many years of effort and failure. However, you never know when success will come. You may have been a few weeks away from that big success, and now you are giving up the fight so close to the goal.
Others will try to take shortcuts.
Let's say you're an aspiring writer. You've been writing articles daily for a while, but your stats aren't taking off. You know you have to keep plugging away without constantly looking at those stats. Yet, you can't help but do it.
By doing so, you are only discouraging yourself.
So you'll decide to buy courses from people promising you the magic formula to get your audience to take off. Some people may even buy followers thinking that they will get closer to their big success faster by giving the impression that they have already reached it.
I'll stop here, but you can imagine all the tricks that some people will try to pull to succeed faster. By falling into this trap, you will lose money, but especially time. Worse yet, you risk giving up your future success for good.
A shortcut would make you miss the best thing about success: the path you build to get it
No one can give you the path to follow to reach success. And this is true no matter what field you are in. Other successful people can share their recipes, but there is no guarantee that they will work for you.
What brings success to one person may not be replicable for another. There are so many additional parameters that come into play that you must instead seek to build your road to success.
This road will not be a straight line as promised by all those who sell you these miracle methods. The road to your success will be long and difficult, but in the end, it will be all the more enjoyable.
Indeed, the most pleasant thing in life is not the success itself, but the road you take to reach it. If that road is yours and you have the unknown of what awaits you after each turn, then you will have an exciting journey where you will never be bored.
It will not be a shortcut, but a beautiful road that will make you proud of yourself while allowing you to motivate day after day the time needed to succeed.
It may take a year, ten years, or even twenty years. Either way, you need to be prepared for it. Your resilience and patience will be the two qualities that will get you there. When the goal is reached, then you will be happier than ever that you did not give in to the temptation to take a shortcut that would have been ineffective anyway.
